SCCA's fiscal year begins at the Annual Symposium in October
and ends the day before the next Symposium.
Therefore, membership renewal is due each October.

A few people have encountered problems when submitting their credit cards. If you have trouble, first clear your computer's cookies (see instructions below). Then, try PayPal again. If it still doesn't work after that, please email the webmaster at Webmaster@SCCAChaplain.org and explain the problem. That way, I can look into it for you, and also ensure that the system remains workable for others.

For step-by-step instructions on how to clear your cookies, here is the answer that PayPal sent:

Cookies are small text files (usually less than 1K in size) that websites send to your computer's hard drive to identify you when you return. Think of them as your ID (identification) badge. Cookies are harmless and cannot affect the performance of your computer.

Follow these simple steps to clear your cookies:
  1.  Open your Internet Explorer browser by clicking on the blue "e."

  2.  Click "Tools" located at the top of the browser and select "Internet Options."

  3.  Click "Delete Cookies".

  4.  Click "OK" and "OK" again.

These steps should work for most browser types.

Internet Explorer (IE) 7 users:

  1.  Open your Internet Explorer browser.

  2.  Click "Tools" located at the top of the browser and select "Internet Options."

  3.  Under Browsing history, click the "Settings" button.

  4.  Click the "View files" button.

  5.  Click "Edit" at the top of the browser and then "Select All."

  6.  Press the "Delete" key on your keyboard.

  7.  Click "Yes" if you are prompted with "Are you sure you want to delete the selected Cookies?"

Macintosh using Internet Explorer

  1.  Click "Explorer" or "Edit" at the top of the screen.

  2.  Click "Preferences."

  3.  Under Web Browser preferences, click "ADVANCED."

  4.  Click "Empty Now" on the right.

  5.  Click "OK."

Cache or Temporary Internet files are used when you return to previously viewed web pages. If you experience difficulty viewing a web page, the cache may be corrupted. In addition, if you do not clear your cache files periodically, you may experience longer loading or browser closing times.

In order to improve your performance on the web and specifically while visiting our site, we suggest that you occasionally clear your cache.

Below are instructions to clear your cache for various browsers. If your browser is not listed below, we suggest that you use the help section of your browser or contact their customer service center.

Internet Explorer (MSN users should also use these steps):

  1.  Click "Start" button.

  2.  Select "Settings" and click "Control Panel". (Your version may be Start > Control panel.)

  3.  Double-click on the Internet (or Internet Options) and select the "General" tab.

  4.  In the Temporary Internet Files section, click "Settings" and choose "View Files".

  5.  Click "Edit" and select "Select All."

  6.  Press the "Delete" key on your keyboard. If prompted to delete your cookies, click "Yes."

Mozilla browser:

  1.  Click "Edit" at the top of the browser.

  2.  Click "Preferences" in the drop down menu.

  3.  On the left side Category "tree" click the "plus" sign to the left of "Privacy & Security."

  4.  Under "Privacy & Security" click the "plus" sign to the left of "Cookies."

  5.  In the window the pops up on the right click the button "Manage Stored Cookies."

  6.  Ensure that the box towards the bottom of this window that states: "Don't allow sites that set removed cookies to set future cookies" is UN-CHECKED.

  7.  Click "Remove all cookies."

  8.  Click "close."

  9.  On the left side directory "tree" click the "plus" sign next to "Advanced."

  10.  Under "Advanced" click on "Cache."

  11.  Click the button on the right window that says "Clear Cache."

  12.  Click "OK."

Firefox:

  1.  Select "Tools" from the top of your browser. (Linux & Mac: Select "Edit.")

  2.  Select "Options". (Linux & Mac: Select "Preferences.")

  3.  Click the "Privacy" icon in the left hand side of the "Options" pop up window.

  4.  Click the "Clear" button next to the "Cookies" field.

  5.  Click the "Clear" button next to the "Cache" field.

Newer versions of Firefox:

  1.  Select "Tools" from the top of your browser.

  2.  Click "Clear Private Data from the file menu." Alternatively you can press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL.

  3.  Check Cache and Cookies in the pop-up that opens. Make sure to deselect all other options unless you want to clear those kinds of private data too.

  4.  Click "Clear Private Data Now" to delete all checked options.

Internet Explorer on a Macintosh:

  1.  Click "Explorer" or "Edit" at the top of your screen.

  2.  Click "Preferences."

  3.  Under Web Browser Preferences click "Advanced."

  4.  Click "Empty Now" on the right.

  5.  Click "OK."

  6.  Under "Receiving Files" Preferences click "Cookies."

  7.  Click "Delete" on the right.

  8.  Click "OK."

AOL:

  1.  Open the AOL account.

  2.  Click "Settings" on the toolbar, ("My AOL" for older versions.)

  3.  Select "Preferences" ("Essentials" for newer versions).

  4.  Select "Internet Properties (WWW)" on the left-hand side, (Older versions will show a "WWW" box).

  5.  In the middle of the Internet Options box is a section called "Temporary Internet Files."

  6.  Click "Delete Files". Place a check mark in the "Delete All Offline Content Box."

  7.  Click "OK."

AOL on a Macintosh:

 
1.  Click "My AOL" at the top of your browser.

  2.  Select "Preferences."

  3.  Click the "WWW" icon on the left hand side.

  4.  On the right hand side, click "Empty Cache Now."

  5.  Click "Advanced Settings" on the right. This will bring up a new window for Advanced Settings.

  6.  To the left under "Receiving" click "Cookies."

  7.  Highlight all cookies and press "Delete" on your keyboard.

Netscape on Microsoft Windows or Macintosh:

  1.  Open Netscape and select the "Edit" pull down menu.

  2.  Select "Preferences."

  3.  Click "Advanced" on the left hand side of the screen and then "Cache." You will see an option to clear your disk and memory cache, it is best to clear both types of cache.

  4.  You may also need to locate the folder on your hard drive named "Cookies" or "Magic Cookies" and delete the cookies that are stored here.
