Goal #1 — Paramount to the ministry and mission of the SCCA is unity of purpose and this unity of purpose needs to be applied in every aspect of the SCCA’s work and training and contact with others.
Objectives:
- Keep the SCCA founding purpose clearly defined for our membership.
- Make sure that the SCCA founding purpose is applied in every aspect of our training.
- Provide a continuous review of the SCCA’s Mission Statement.
- Introduce the mission and ministry of the SCCA to a broader base of agencies and organizations.
Goal #2 — Create timely training that is applicable to all members
Objectives:
- Make sure that the training sessions are relevant to the mission and ministry of the SCCA as well as the specific educational needs of the Chaplains.
- Give more attention to details, location, specific program and timing of the training.
- Provide training on “crisis” events.
- Look into the requirements and the training of FEMA necessary for access to catastrophic events.
Goal #3 — A new focus on “first responders” and develop a plan that would provide an outreach to their personnel
Objectives:
- Embrace training and relationships that would include all first responders, i.e., Police, fire, hospital and jail Chaplains.
- Develop a relationship with the Orange County Ambulance Association and provide assistance to their personnel.
- Compile a list of Orange County Police, Fire, Hospital and Jail agencies where there is no Chaplain program and encourage them to create one and promote SCCA as a vital resource for their personnel.
- Create a brochure/pamphlet that will promote the SCCA and its mission and ministry.
Goal #4 — Continue to promote the Mutual Aid Protocol with Southern California public safety and hospital adminstrators.
Objectives:
- Send letter that introduces SCCA to the public safety, health care, and first responder administrators along with chaplain coordinators in Southern California: Chaplains Jeff Hetschel and John Oros.
